How does a fashion brand actually based here operate? Well, right now, we're not. We started planning our fall/winter collection months ago and placed an order for naturally dyed hand woven fabric made by artisans in India. In late spring, they made that fabric for us and shipped it from India to us here. And once it got to the borders, it got held up at customs by the Israelis. After a couple of months of them holding on to it, they finally told us today, August 24th, that they're not gonna allow it into the country and that they are gonna destroy it. So we are 1, without fabric for our fall winter collection and 2, super behind on producing a fall/winter collection. So now we have to 1. FIND NEW FABRIC find natural fabrics to replace the fabrics we didn't get in a market dominated by polyester when we use only natural fabrics. 2. PAY SHIPPING COSTS cover the cost of shipping for fabrics that we never received. 2. PAY INDIAN ARTISANS And 3, pay the artisans in India for the fabric that we never received because they still produced and laboured to create the fabric. And this is a pretty hard one for us to admit because we tend to fight, keep operating no matter what. We've fought countless obstacles, including checkpoints being erected at a moments notice and blocking all movement, including gas shortages that make it so that we literally cannot drive anywhere, including to our studio, or so that we can't get supplies to artisans. We can't pick up garments from artisans. Often times the airport closes and the border closes so we can't even get our packages to customers after they place an order. We deal with a lot and we manage to keep going. This time we put our hands up. So this is where we need help. We're putting together fundraiser to raise the funds because we simply don't have it. I'm gonna put a QR code right here so that you can screenshot and go to the gofundme. If you cannot donate, that's totally understandable. Just share it with your community, pass it on to your friends and family and help us create a fall winter collection here at home. As always.
