Why it worked

The video effectively uses a soft-sell approach by framing Ecosia as an accessible alternative for individuals concerned about climate change, leveraging relatable imagery and a clear explanation of the product's impact.

Summary

The video discusses the impact of climate change, highlighting recent heat records and the potential for a colder future if current trends continue. It then introduces Ecosia, a search engine that plants trees and funds climate projects with its profits, as an alternative for those who want to make a difference without drastically changing their lives.

Structure

1Introduction to climate change concerns
2Highlighting recent extreme weather
3Introducing Ecosia as a solution
4Explaining Ecosia's impact
5Call to action to use Ecosia

Product placement

Ecosia: (a) ACTS - it is a search engine that plants trees and funds climate action projects. Its interface is operated by the user searching. Removing it would change what happens in the video. (b) APPEARS - its logo appears on screen and its website is shown. Removing it would not change what happens in the video.
