Dolly was pure light sent from heaven. My
mentor is gone. My songwriting teacher and hero of grace and
humility. There is a hole in my heart but the joy of just the
thought of her smile will continue to fill me with inspiration for
as long as I live. I will cherish this moment performing Coat Of
Many Colors with Dolly forever. Goodbye Dolly. Rest in peace,
beautiful angel.

A world without Dolly doesn't feel possible, real, or right. But because of the
eternally generous way she spent her time on this earth and the countless lives she
changed for the better, her legacy will be an everlasting one.
She was truly the gift that kept on giving. Dolly gave us someone to look up to
while encouraging us to be who we are as individuals. Somehow she was able to
give us her lessons about the world gently and honestly, simultaneously, and
often times hilariously. She managed to give the world the ultimate mystery and
fantasy in some corners of her life, but to give full transparency in the ways that
counted. Somehow she was true grace and true grit, all in one dazzling person.
She possessed the softest heart when it came to the struggles of others, and a
backbone of steel to defend her own self worth as an artist.
Along with her other fans, I am so grateful for all of it. For the melodies and lyrics
she wrote that thawed even the coldest hearts. For the millions of books she
provided children all over the world so that they might fall in love with stories the
way she did. For the tightropes she walked so that young girls like me could grow
up dreaming of joining the circus too.
Dolly, I'll think of you each step of the way.

I have so many moments and memories with
Dolly, it's hard to know where to start. Like every little boy, I
grew up loving Dolly Parton. She was a part of our lives, on our
TV's, right in our living rooms.
In 1992, I'll never forget walking into her dressing room to
apologize for all the tabloid stories which claimed I was having
an affair with her. In true Dolly fashion, she just looked at me,
winked and said, "Honey, this trash sells records!"
Dolly recently sent me a beautiful message, telling me she
loved me with her whole heart. I will always love her in the
same way ..... with my whole heart ... and I always will.

DOLLY,
YOU WERE THE BAROMETER. THE NORTH STAR. BOLD AND BRILLIANT. TALENTED AND TENACIOUS. YOU TAUGHT SO
MANY LESSONS ON HOW TO BE UNIQUELY ONESELF. I AM GRATEFUL FOR YOUR ART, YOUR HEART, YOUR GENEROSITY,
YOUR HUMOR, YOUR ENTREPRENEURSHIP. I'M HONORED THAT I HAD THE PRIVILEGE TO WORK WITH YOU.
I WILL TREASURE THAT FOREVER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROFOUND IMPACT ON THE WORLD.
YOU ARE AN ANGEL WHO HAS MADE THIS WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE BECAUSE OF YOUR JOYFUL ART.
YOU ARE TRULY ONE OF ONE.
REST PEACEFULLY.

Like the rest of the world, my heart sank seeing
the news of dear Dolly's passing. She meant so much to so
many people for so long.
For me, she was an example of a woman who defied the
stereotypes for decades. She proved that big boobs, big
brains, and a big voice can all exist in one tiny body! But the
biggest thing about her by far was her heart.
I had the honor of meeting and singing with her several times.
Every time I saw Dolly, she was a pure, sweet (but not
saccharine) sassy, cup of joy.
Her way of looking at life with a sense of humor has always
been an inspiration to me... I remember having a dream of
having her sing with me for my Super Bowl show, popping out
of a larger than life rhinestone cowboy boot... and though she
couldn't do it at the time she sent my team a sweet note,
through fax... it was 2015! lol.
If there's someone you wanna look up to and model your life
after, it's Dolly. Dolly was glam, funny, and kind as fuck. Her
star will forever shine bright and I bet you she's already
remodeling them pearly gates with rhinestones. We will always
love you Dolly!

Dolly Parton had a way of
making everyone feel
special, and seen, and
welcomed, and as if you
were old friends. I will miss
her heart and her voice as I
am sure millions will. What
an incredible gift and
talent she was and still is
with an amazing catalogue of
art she has left behind
for all of us.

Congratulations on your induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Your
performance was amazing and everybody said so. Even though I don't know a lot
about rap music, I've come to know that you are the very best at it. Aside from that
I know what I have to say will not seem weird or strange to you but I have always
felt some intertwined connection to you like I know somebody I had hoped to
meet you at the show but you know how nuts those things are, personally I hate
'em and I missed my chance but maybe someday we'll meet. In the meantime,
keep doing what you're doing because you do it so well and no matter how
complex your world may be just know you are very special and touch people in
ways you don't even know.
With love & respect,
Dolly Parton

I'm sorry we never got a chance to meet, but
getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She
definitely didn't have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid
who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A
superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for
the kind words.

The magnificent star Dolly Parton has died
and it is so sad. She was such a wonderful woman. I first met
her in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry where she had been
playing with the country star Porter Wagoner and was about to
start her solo career. She was so bubbly and full of life it is
difficult to take in the news that she has passed. Her
songwriting, her singing and her philanthropy were unrivaled
in the world of country music and it is hard to imagine living in
a world without Dolly. She was a very clever business woman
who understood the value of her music and, most importantly,
the effect that she had on the people of the world. There was
no greater honour for me than to have her sing my song Let It
Be and, even though I only made a small contribution to it, I
am so honoured that she did it. I am so proud to have known
her and admire her unique talents.
Thanks Dolly for the beautiful music you gave me and the
whole world. We will always love you, god bless and rest in
peace. You were the best.

One of my fondest memories with @dollyparton:
Having a hoot and a holler while wearing Bob Mackie gowns
on her show Dolly.
This girl from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee dreamed a
life and then lived a life bigger than she could have ever
imagined, giving so generously to others in ways we saw and
ways we didn't.
No one like her. She brought the light, and we are all better
because she was here.
God bless you, Dolly-you earned your wings

Dolly...you were pure light, with a kind heart and
a generous spirit. We will now be missing one of the most
joyful voices this world has ever known. Thank you for the
music, the laughter, and the love you gave us all. We will
always love you.
Rest in peace, Dolly.

She's not gone. I know exactly where she
is. She was the epitome of faith, grace, talent, beauty and
humor. She had a humble heart for Jesus and made everyone
around her feel special. She was probably the one person on
planet Earth that everyone loved and could agree on. She was
a one of and no one will ever come close. It's alright to be
sad that this world lost a legend, but heaven gained an angel.
Well done, good and faithful Dolly. Welcome home. W

Dolly, thank you for paving the way. Not only
for women in music, but for women everywhere to be
unapologetically themselves. You showed us that we could be
ambitious and kind, strong and soft, fearless and authentic.
One of the greatest honors of my life was getting to work with
you. Your legacy reaches far beyond music. Through your
philanthropy, generosity, and commitment to literacy and
education, you changed countless lives and made the world a
better place.
You used your success to lift others, proving that true
greatness is measured not only by what we achieve, but by
what we give.
There will never be another Dolly Parton. Thank you for the
music, the laughter, the love, and for leaving this world
brighter, kinder, and better than you found it. @dollyparton

Some people are so extraordinary,
their existence feels almost
impossible. Dolly was one of those
people.
A once-in-a-lifetime soul. A woman
whose light, heart, talent and
humanity changed this world forever.
To have admired her was a gift. To
have met her, spent time in her
presence, and somehow been lucky
enough that Dolly Parton knew my
name... I will never have words big
enough for what that means to me.
What an astronomical human being.
What a legacy. What a loss.
There will never be another Dolly.
