The best part of cooking steak might actually be what happens after you take it out. We used our @ZWILLING Canada Milano sauté pan because it creates even browning and has the best non-stick surface to transfer all the leftover flavour into a silky pan sauce. It’s just a bonus that it comes in this sleek, gorgeous brown colour inspired by Italian design 🤎 Ingredients: - 12 ounce NY strip steak - Montreal steak seasoning - half of a yellow onion - 1 tsp dijon mustard - 2 cloves of garlic - 1 cup of beef broth - ¼ cup of white wine - 2 tbsp of cream - 3 tbsp of butter for basting - rosemary and thyme for basting - salt and pepper to taste Instructions: 1. Pat the steak dry and season with Montreal steak seasoning all over 2. Preheat ZWILLING Milano pan over medium high heat until hot 3. Lay down the steak and cook on the first side for 3.5 mins. Then flip and cook on the other side for 2.5-3 minutes depending on the desired cook. We like medium rare. 4. Add in butter, garlic, and herbs and baste the steak with those aromatics to increase browning and create a more flavourful crust. 5. Remove steak to rest and drain excess fat from the pan, then add onions and garlic, and let those soften in the pan. 6. Once softened, add dijon mustard, white wine, beef stock , salt & pepper, and stir until combined. Let cook until simmering and thickened, then remove from the heat. 7. Once off the heat, add cream and stir to finish your luxurious pan sauce. 8. Top your steak with the pan sauce, and serve with a salad, fries, or grilled vegetables.
