THE ULTIMATE STEAK SANDWICH 🥩🥖 ✨ SAVE this for your next date night OR send this to someone who needs to make this for you 👀 Basically date night in sandwich form❤️ INGREDIENTS 🥩 Steak • 2 steaks of your choice, I used ribeye @Meat by THB • Olive oil • Salt & pepper • Butter, for cooking 🧅 Caramelised onions • 2 large onions, thinly sliced • 1 tbsp oil • 1 knob of butter • 1 tsp brown sugar • Plenty of salt 🍄 Garlic & thyme mushrooms • 300g mushrooms, sliced • 1 clove garlic, crushed • Fresh thyme • 1 knob of butter • Salt & pepper 🤍 Creamy garlic sauce • 2 large dollops crème fraîche (light or regular) • 1 clove fresh garlic, crushed • Fresh parsley, chopped • Salt 🥖 To assemble • 2 stone-baked ciabatta • Mozzarella or your favourite cheese • Fresh rocket METHOD 1. Start with the onions. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the oil, followed by the sliced onions. Cook them down, then add the butter, brown sugar and plenty of salt. Turn the heat down low and let them slowly caramelise, stirring regularly, until soft, golden and jammy. Cook for around 15 minutes or more, depending on how caramelised you like them. 2. Cook the steak. Get a pan really hot. Season your steaks generously with salt and pepper, add a little olive oil and sear until cooked to your preferred doneness. Add a knob of butter towards the end and baste if you fancy. Remove and let them rest. 3. Mushrooms. In the same pan, add a knob of butter, then the mushrooms, garlic, fresh thyme, salt and pepper. Cook for a few minutes until golden and tender. 4. Make the sauce. Mix together the crème fraîche, crushed garlic, chopped parsley and a little salt. 5. Build it. Warm your ciabatta and cut it open. Spread the creamy garlic sauce over the bottom, then add your sliced steak and cheese. Melt the cheese (I used a blowtorch 🔥), then pile on the garlicky mushrooms, caramelised onions and fresh rocket. 6. Close it up, slice it in half and serve. ❤️ #steak #datenight #EasyRecipe #sandwich
