School is back in session and of course my boy wants to have a fresh retwist for the girls. It's been a while since I gave his locs a really good detox and the fact that he's been at football practice all through the summer and the beginning of the school year, it is well overdue. Now I forgot to get some lemon juice so I had to improvise and use lemons that I already had. I don't know why he's acting like this is the first time he's gotten a detox. He know once he gets the sizzling it's activating and all of that dirt that's built up inside is going to come out in the water. I do this about two times and then we head over to sink so that he can get a good wash. We always skip the clarifying shampoo whenever we do the detox. One thing that I do love about this type of wash day is that it leaves his locs feeling so much lighter and when I do his retwist everything just looks so much better. I do skip the clarifying shampoo step when we do the detox and go straight into using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I'm learning not to use too much conditioner. I noticed after washing it out 50 million times, sometimes it's still stuck inside his locs. And look, I'm no professional. I just do my baby hair because he tend to head it and nobody else is dealing with him. But let me get to this retwist and I'll see y'all on the next one.
