🇹🇭 THAILAND DTV VISA — 2 MASSIVE CHANGES If you’re planning to enter Thailand on a DTV visa or already here on another visa and thinking of switching watch this before you book anything ✈️ What’s changing: 1️⃣ Criminal record check now required: A certificate of criminal record clearance from your country of nationality or the country where you’re applying. Previously not required for the DTV. 2️⃣ No more border-run applications: As of 31 August 2026, you can only apply for the DTV visa in the country you’re a national of. The old strategy of popping over to Laos or Vietnam to apply is gone. 📌 Full DTV requirements (save this for later): ✅ Biodata page of your passport or travel document ✅ Photograph taken within the last 6 months ✅ Proof of permanent residence in the country where you’re applying ✅ Financial evidence: last 3-month bank statement(s) showing min. 500,000 THB (or equivalent), OR a sponsorship letter ✅ Employment contract/certificate, or a professional portfolio showing digital nomad, remote worker, foreign talent, or freelancer status ✅ NEW: Certificate of criminal record clearance from your country of nationality or the country where you’re applying ✅ NEW: Must apply in the country you are a national of.
