You're probably using the wrong tools to brush your dog out at home. And that's why your groomer ends up shaving your dog every time. So let me help you figure out what tools to use and how to actually brush your dog. Come on, let's go. Alright, first off. you're going to need a long pin slicker brush. This one right here is purple. Love it. It's got those longer pins. And you're gonna need a metal tooth comb. And I just use my detangling spray. Give me one second. And you're gonna need some form of detangling spray. I buy a big bottle and mix it up in here. Um, brushing your dog's coat dry is probably why you're getting the knots out and then it's rematting. Think about split ends. When you have those split ends. that part of your hair always is the part that's most knotted. because that dead hair needs to come out because it doesn't mix well with the healthy hair. So wanna make sure that we're locking in moisture and we're sealing that hair follicle before we start the brushing process. I have already fluffed her. so I'm not going to spray this on her. But you're gonna go through. You're gonna start with your slicker brush. Okay. I'm gonna move Harley this way. And what you're going to do is start at a section here. You're not going to extend that leg anywhere more than it should be. Always make sure you're putting that leg in the natural position that that bone is supposed to go in. And you're gonna, I'm holding at an awkward angle, so I could teach you. You're gonna hold and you're going to line brush. And when you're line brushing, you're gonna brush that line every which way. and you're gonna work your way up. and you're gonna grab a new section or a new part. Cool.ante. Line brushing works on every part of the body! Then you're going to check your work with your metal tooth comb. Meaning, can your comb go all the way through? And one better. I want you to line comb. So the same way you line brush, I want you to line comb. and you're gonna line comb that. and then you're gonna go up backwards. See, I hit a little knot right here. I'm not gonna pull it out with my comb. I'm gonna go back in with my slicker brush where I saw that comb in that line section, and I'm going to brush it in different ways to loosen up that knot. Show you. So it's like stopping it. but just like that. And all the way through. up and backwards. Same face, all the way. Okay. Then I have this slicker brush, which has shorter pins, but they're actually tighter together versus these ones are wider apart. I use this brush strictly for fluffing. That's just to add that volume and that brushing aspect after a good wash, to add that volume. So it's fluffy. Um, but those are some tips that you can use at home when brushing your dog. So yeah.
