Will Tike Town be open to the public? With peace and love, no❤️ Our intention has never been to open Tike Town to the public. From the very beginning we have said this will just be for our kids, our friends and family. IF we were to open it to the public (which we’re not) we would have to pay for insurance, have public bathrooms, have parking to accommodate guests, which would be a huge cost to us. Costs aside, it would also be a huge safety issue; Tike Town is in our backyard. Would you want to invite strangers to your house? Probably not, and neither do we. Not to mention, it would also affect our pets! Right now our pets have the freedom to free range, but if we had guests here we would not be able to do that. So we know hypothetically it sounds like a good idea, and we know there’s a lot of people who would love to visit, but our family’s safety will always be our top priority so Tike Town will NOT be open to the public, ever. I get asked every day if Tike Town is going to be open to the public. So let's talk about it. The short answer is no. I feel like I've been very clear and transparent from the very beginning that we were building Tike Town just for our kids, for our friends and family. In the same way that if you have a swing set or a swimming pool in your backyard, you invite your friends and family over to enjoy that. But no matter how cool your swing set or your swimming pool is, you probably would never post on Facebook to millions of people. Hey, if anyone wants to go swimming, my swimming pool is here, in my swimming pool is really cool. For obvious reasons. Unfortunately, it's a huge liability and there's people out there who love to sue people. And as you guys have all pointed out, there's a lot of hazards here in Tike Town. I don't want someone coming and tripping over our turf or our pavers and then suing us about it. We would be forced to carry extra insurance even if we did waiver or any of the other hoops we could possibly jump through if we wanted to open to the public. But then we'd have to charge people to come to Tike Town. But then we're running a full-time business and that's not what I built this for. Not to mention other logistical things like public bathrooms and parking, which we also don't have. And hypothetically, it sounds like a really good business. We could rent it out for birthday parties, we could host play dates here and charge money for it. But I don't want this to be a business. I want this to be a really fun thing for our kids, our friends and our family to just come here and enjoy that and not have it feel like work. And it also would be a huge safety issue. Um, for the same reason, most of you probably wouldn't want to post your home address publicly because Tike Town is in my backyard. Right behind my house. I don't either. I also don't want millions of people to know my home address and where I live. So I don't want to broadcast where Tike Town is and invite the public. So yes, I do think some people have gotten confused because we've mentioned that we plan on hosting our local neighborhood kids here. And that's because we live in a really small community. So we're either related to you or friends with you if you live in our town. So yes, we plan on hosting like our local community here for play dates, but not the general public.
