Some kids are getting grown up way too late. This issue of "grown late" is well-intended, but too many parents are treating their 22-year-old son like he's 9. We have over-coddled a generation. Kids need consequences, ramifications, and boundaries. That's how kids learn! Not, "mommy and daddy will protect you," then you send them out into the big, bad, real world...and then they're crying about everything, blaming their job or their bosses. I was out at a business meeting with a 26-year-old dude and his mom. He had to call 'em back three times. He had to call 'em back cause mom saw that he wasn't home yet. You're 26, bro. I literally told him, I'm like, disconnect with your mom's location now. Kids are getting grown too late. I had "grown too early syndrome." At 14, I was already working in my dad's liquor store. I was already making my own money. I didn't get a gift. After 11, you want Sega Genesis? Go get it.
