Long-form description We finally closed the distance… but nobody really talks about what happens AFTER that. ❤️ For so long, the goal of our long-distance relationship was simple: Get her here. Close the miles. Stop living through FaceTime. Stop counting down until the next flight. Stop having to say goodbye every time we finally got comfortable being together again. And then we actually did it. Now Future Wifey is literally in the kitchen behind me, cooking and singing completely oblivious to the fact that I’m making another relationship video about us. 😂 And I’ve realized something: Closing the distance doesn’t mean you’ve finished the work. It means you’ve entered a completely different kind of relationship. When you’re long distance, you learn how to communicate through a phone. Now you have to learn how to communicate standing five feet away from each other. You used to schedule FaceTimes. Now you’re figuring out morning routines, work schedules, meals, exercise, responsibilities, family, alone time, finances, businesses, sleep schedules and whose stuff somehow ended up on whose side of the room. 😂 You spend months wishing you could have unlimited time together… Then suddenly you actually do. And that’s an adjustment too. We’re incredibly blessed because we didn’t have to navigate her immediately finding a completely separate job and disappearing for eight or ten hours every day. We’ve been able to work together. We eat together. We train together. We run errands together. We build together. We come home together. And somehow… we still want to hang out together. 😂 That’s when I realized I found my favorite kind of toxic. I’m obsessed with her. She’s obsessed with me. And apparently our solution to spending months apart was deciding we should now do approximately everything together. But underneath the jokes, there’s something I’m learning that I think every LDR couple eventually needs to understand: Don’t make closing the distance your finish line. Make building a healthy life together the finish line. Because all those things long distance forced you to work on — communication, patience, trust, reassurance, vulnerability and conflict — don’t suddenly disappear when you share an address. Now you get to practice them in person. And we’re learning. Some things have been easier than I imagined. Some things have required adjustments. And there are already lessons about closing the distance that I wish somebody had told me before we did it. So that’s what we’re going to start talking about. I broke my phone recently and finally got it back, so consider this my first official video back. We spent a long time documenting what it took to survive long distance. Now we’re going to document what happens when you actually bring that relationship home. New routines. New challenges. Blending lives. Working together. Living together. Building businesses together. Taking care of each other. And figuring out how two independent lives actually become one life. We closed the distance. Now the real adventure starts. ❤️ #LongDistanceRelationship #ClosingTheDistance #RelationshipAdvice #CouplesJourney #RiseAndReclaim
