If you've never bought solid gold or silver or really any vintage jewelry on goodwill.com, you are missing out. Shopgoodwill.com has a whole section of different types of jewelry, everything from costume to jewelry grab bags, fine jewelry grab bags, precious metal scrap, brooches, pins, men's accessories, jewelry sets, bracelets, jewelry boxes. I've gotten pretty good at buying stuff on there and scoring some great deals. So I thought I would share my tips with you. First and foremost, you have to have an account to shop goodwill.com. You can pre-save all your information in there with your shipping address and payment so you don't have to worry about it while you're bidding. My tips if you're looking for something like solid gold or solid silver or really any type of jewelry is to go up to the search bar and type in something like 10k or 14k and hit search. Then you're going to want to filter the results for ending soonest. This is what I do if I want to see the pieces that are going to be ending in the next couple of hours, and you know, get more of like an instant gratification type thing. You can see the things that are going to be happening in the next few days or weeks. But I like to go with ending soonest because I feel like that's the most exciting. After you sort by ending soonest, I would scroll past the first two pages unless you want to make an impulse buy because a lot of that stuff is usually ending in the next couple of minutes. For example, I bought these solid 10 karat gold chain style earrings, which they were described as 10 karat gold scrap, which they are not. They are about 1.3 grams of 10 karat gold. And I paid $60 for these. Not too bad. With goodwill, you're going to want to decide if you're the type of bidder that likes to wait until the very end and decide to swoop in and leave a bid or place your max bid and go forward confidently knowing that you won't overpay for something or regret it later. I highly recommend you check out shopgoodwill.com, follow my tips for typing in the material that you want and take a look at the lots that are described as scrap because a lot of the time they aren't scrap, they're just a simple repair by your local jeweler and you can get a really awesome deal on solid gold and silver.
