Part 2 Blu is a 3-year-old intact male Staffordshire Bull Terrier who previously completed a 6 week board & train program with another local trainer. His obedience was good enough to manage him, but his owners were still struggling with his behavior. After discussing Blu’s history and getting a better understanding of what was happening at home, I asked his owner to show me something simple: “Show me how you use the place command.” Almost immediately, I noticed something that helped explain many of the behaviors they had been experiencing. This is where we shift the conversation from obedience to behavior. Blu is extremely sensitive to spatial pressure, and once you understand how that pressure affects him, his behavior starts to make a lot more sense. When I took over the leash, we got to see firsthand just how much pressure influences Blu and what can happen when that pressure exceeds what he’s comfortable with. Now I want to hear from you: Did you predict the aggressive behavior before it happened? If you did, what specifically did you notice that made you think it was coming? If you didn’t, what did you see (or not see) that made you think Blu wasn’t going to react aggressively? #DogTraining #dogtrainer #dog #dogs #dogsofttiktok
