Did you guys know before school when I was younger I would cover my mole with red lipstick because I hated it so much as if that didn't draw more attention to it. But if I still highlighted everything I didn't like about my face, this is where I would be today. And I think that's where we've gone wrong with makeup trends because somewhere along the lines we got really good at identifying everything we wanted to hide. Marc Jacobs Beauty is all about leaving your mark, including your beauty mark. Just funny because the thing I once hated the most, slowly over time became my favorite part of my face. Today I am going to emphasize rather than hide. For an example, I now darken my mole every single day. These are my favorite eyeliners because they are super creamy but once they dry down, they do not budge. Not playing is my favorite shade right now, especially for emphasizing green eyes. I quite literally use it every single day. I used to be afraid of eyeshadow because I have really large eyes that I don't want to make them look any bigger. But now I'm like, how fun is it that I have all this real estate to play. This color is so iridescent, it's so pretty. Like that looks so cool. And I was gonna rob myself from having this much fun with my eyes. For what? I love how green and makes my eyes look. And I love my eyebrows. So instead of using a concealer to cover something, I'm using it to create contrast around them to make them stand out even more. And I think that's what I started to love about makeup again. It doesn't always have to be about fixing something. Because the things that make your face yours aren't necessarily the things you need to cover. Maybe the point isn't to cover your mark. Maybe it's to leave one. I love how green and makes my eyes look. And I love my eyebrows.
