Dozens of cities are cancelling Flock contracts — but too many are replacing them with surveillance agreements that could be ever worse. Axon and Motorola are both in the Automatic License Plate Reader business, making cameras that track vehicles. Axon already has deals with 85% of police departments because of its body cam business, but now it's expanding further into mass surveillance and license plate readers.
