Amazon’s response to a New York City bill that could protect Amazon drivers is to threaten the city with the prospect of jobs loss and slower, more expensive deliveries. The trillion-dollar company says the proposal from the city council and Zohran Mamdani could put over 5,000 delivery jobs at risk, a thinly veiled threat that Amazon will respond to attempts to protect delivery drivers by cutting jobs.
