Replying to @Tahshiana Harvey “Bamboo” baby clothes aren’t actually bamboo!! Nor are they a natural fiber just because they come from bamboo. Don’t let the word bamboo fool you! They’re greenwashing you. Bamboo isn’t even an actual fabric. Viscose and rayon are fabrics that come from bamboo, but even the FDA says that once bamboo is turned into viscose or rayon, there’s no trace of the original plant left…. 😵💫 And the process to make viscose or rayon is one of the most toxic chemical processes, that uses carbon disulfide, and may expose its workers to negative health outcomes. Now I’m not necessarily saying viscose or rayon is toxic. My point here is just to educate parents about what they’re actually buying. Bamboo viscose or rayon from bamboo are not natural fibers, and brands use the term bamboo to greenwash you into thinking you are buying a natural fiber fabric. We list better-for-you, natural fiber baby clothes brands on our Welpr App. I try to reach for organic cotton whenever possible. Here are some organic cotton baby clothes brands I like instead: @Our Little Treasures @Little Planet by Carter’s @Butterblu @burtsbeesbaby Hope this helps!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼✨✨✨✨ #nontoxicbaby #naturalfiber #nontoxicliving #naturalfiberclothes #nontoxichome
