I lost my vision in my right eye after developing a rare infection called Acanthamoeba keratitis. I showered while wearing my contacts, which allowed the amoeba to infect my eye and ultimately caused severe damage and permanent vision loss. If you wear contacts, please learn from my story. Always practice proper contact lens hygiene and never shower, sleep, or swim in your contacts.
