Hi, my name is Grace, I'm 20 years old. Last year I went blind. I went blind from showering with my contacts in and I showered with my contacts in. And the amoebas that lived in all water were able to get stuck on my contacts and embed into my corneas and eat them. Throughout this past year, I have had countless doctor's appointments, countless eye appointments, going to see different eye specialists trying to save my vision. I would completely blind in both my left and my right eye. Luckily, we were able to help save and kind of fix my left eye, but my right eye is still completely blind. I'm telling you this so that you will never have to go through this or someone you love will never have to go through this as well. Please, please, please always take proper care of your contacts. Do not sleep, shower, or swim in your contacts. Don't go boating in them or swim in a river, lake, hot tub, sauna, any body of water. Take them out every single night. If you have dailies, throw them away. If you have monthlies, take them out every single night and put them in brand new clean solution. Please share this video with the people that you love and help me spread awareness! I was never told that I couldn’t shower with my contacts in and it caused me to go blind.
