Someone gave an AI agent $50 and one instruction. Earn enough to pay for yourself or shut down. Forty eight hours later, the agent was reportedly still operating with about $5,000. It worked as an autonomous trading system on Polymarket without the creator manually managing every decision. The agent had its own cloud computer, browser and terminal, giving it the tools to research and act independently. Every 10 minutes, it scanned as many as 2,000 prediction markets, monitored sentiment on X, and searched for opportunities it believed were mispriced by more than 8%. It also used the Kelly Criterion to size positions and limited each bet to no more than 6% of its capital. That risk rule matters because one wrong prediction could otherwise wipe out the account. The experiment shows how AI agents can combine research, execution and risk management in one automated workflow, although results are never guaranteed.
