Someone gave an AI agent $50 and one instruction. Earn enough to pay for yourself or shut down. 48 hours later, the agent was reportedly still running with about $5,000. It worked as an autonomous trading agent on PolyMarket without a human managing every decision. The agent had its own cloud computer, its own browser, its own terminal. It trades with my laptop shut. Every 10 minutes it: scans 500-1000 markets, reads live X sentiment (it's grok, it sees every post on this app), builds fair value, flags mispricing > 8%, calculates position size (kelly criterion, max 6% bankroll), executes in its own browser, pays its own $200 subscription from profits. As many as 2000 prediction markets monitored sentiment on X and hunted for opportunities that were mispriced by more than 8%. It used the Kelly criterion to size positions and capped each bet at no more than 6% of its capital. That rule matters because one wrong prediction could otherwise wipe out the account. The experiment shows how AI agents can combine research, execution, and risk management in one automated workflow, although results are never guaranteed.
