Here are the first five I'd start with. 🙌 Btw. If the written explanations below seem too difficult, you can find video tutorials from my profile. 👇 The materials you need to start textured art: - canvas (go for preprimed stretched cotton so the most common one) - a set of palette knives - acrylic paint - paintbrush(es) - plaster comb (if you want to make arches) - texture paste (find mine linked in my bio) 1. The first design is called Overlapping Arches. Just spread a layer of paste on the canvas and with the plaster comb pull the arches. Let it dry fully and paint on top. 2. Second one, (Moss), is the one I'd start with. Mix in a little acrylic paint to the paste, spread on the canvas and pull the ridges with the palette knife. Then mix some more paint to get a slightly darker paste and repeat the process. 3. Ridged Bark (easiest). Spread some paste on the canvas, pull down on it with a palette knife to create the ridges. Let it dry and paint on top. 4. Waves. Take some texture paste on your palette knife, pull it across the canvas and turn the knife around 45 degrees and push it back. Repeat until you have the wave lines, allow to dry and paint on top. 5. The last one is Dots. Colour some texture paste with little acrylic and scoop it up with the tip of a round palette knife. Push down on the canvas, twist and lift. Repeat with different colours. Which one was your favourite? 🙌 . . . #texturedart #textureart #kunst
