Omg! What the hell is hiding there?! During today's walk through the woods, we went too far. The canopy grew thicker above us, slowly swallowing the sunlight. It got darker. A warm breeze brushed against my face, carrying a familiar scent. For a moment, I was a child again. The damp moss sank beneath my feet with every step. Then the birds stopped singing. Just like that. Silence. Not peaceful silence. The kind of silence that makes you feel like something is watching you. A deer suddenly ran across the path and disappeared deep into the forest. I stopped. Something felt wrong. I looked around, trying to figure out what had changed. And then I saw it. A black head. Small ears. An unnaturally long body. And those eyes... God, those eyes. They were pitch black, staring directly at me. It looked as though it was waiting. Waiting for me to make the first move. I didn't breathe. I didn't move. Neither did it. It stopped blinking. Completely still. I slowly took a step forward. Then another. I got closer... Closer... And....... Put it in my backpack. Yeah. It was a fake head of a fairytale creature that I had planted there myself. But hey, maybe all those views will help get more eyes on my reposted posts about sick children who desperately need help.
