Let’s talk about the letter that King Charles sent to “stakeholders” about Harry and Meghan, reaffirming their status as non-working royals… as well as the way that every outlet claiming to be exhausted by Harry and Meghan coverage are now publishing misleading, "bombshell" takes on routine palace guidance. The missive states that the Sussexes’ position is akin to that of private citizens, with commercial and charitable interests. They remain the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but their HRH styles remain “in abeyance” and are not used. What this letter does NOT do is “put the Sussexes in their place,” as some outlets including the Daily Mail chose to paint it as. The letter refers to “requests for Guidance” and “helping avoid doubt or confusion.” Are royal reporters actually reporting the news in an effort to help the public understand, or are they just manufacturing outrage and attention? Because those are two different jobs. In other words, this letter was for everyone BUT the Sussexes. It was for the government officials who actually needed clarification… which the Palace provided, clearly and directly. The British media COULD report what the letter says and move on. They could choose accuracy over outrage and engagement. They don't. #royalnews #britishroyalfamily #harryandmeghan #royaltea #buckinghampalace
