Why it worked

The video taps into the highly sought-after nature of Jellycat products, particularly those that are frequently out of stock. The creator's relatable struggle with unboxing and her honest, slightly negative reaction to one of the items creates engagement and encourages comments.

Summary

The creator unboxes a package from Trotters containing Jellycat bunnies and a bashful duck. While she loves the bunnies, she is unsure about the duck, finding its face a bit alien-like. She plans to sell one of the bunnies on Vinted and keep the duck for now.

Structure

Product placement

Jellycat (brand of stuffed toys) - APPEARS as the subject of the unboxing and is mentioned throughout. Removing it would change the video's topic. Trotters (children's clothing store) - APPEARS as the sender of the package. Removing it would change the context of the unboxing. Vinted (resale marketplace) - ACTS as a platform where the creator will sell one of the items. Removing it would change the explanation of how the creator will re-home the item.

Transcript

No, no. I, I don't like her. No, I don't like her. Why don't I like her? Oh, no. One thing about me is that I'm absolutely terrible at remembering to open my parcels because I ordered these jelly cats three months ago. Three months ago and I still haven't opened the box. I don't know what it is. I'm just really bad at opening parcels. This one is actually from Trotters. And I believe there should be 3 jelly cats inside here. Okay. Let's see. Oh, my goodness me. Oh, wow. Oh, my gosh. There's so much to take in. The stars of the show. Oh, my goodness me are the Juniper Luxe bunnies. Now, I ordered these because they haven't come into stock on the Jellycat website for a very long time. And then they have now come back into stock on the Jellycat website. Because I have left it so long to open this parcel. But I ordered two because I'm really fussy with my bunnies, and I wanted to choose a nice face. So. Oh. Oh, they're both really cute. Maybe I didn't need to order two! But what I will do is because I have missed the returns deadline, I will pop one of these Jellycat bunnies on my Vinted account for retail price. So one of you guys can get your hands on Juniper as well. But they are so cute. I think I like... Do I like this one? I don't know. I don't know. Oh, I don't know. She looks a little bit like an alien. Something about her face is throwing me off. Oh, I feel really bad. I don't like her. I don't know. Maybe I'll keep her in my collection for a little bit and see if I bond with her. But right now, I don't think I like her. Right. Well, that was a mixed success, Jellycat unboxing! But I absolutely love the Junipers. They are to die for. Let me know down in the comments below what you think of my jelly cat haul! And if you love jelly cat content make sure you're following along and hopefully I'll see you in the next video. Thanks for watching. Bye!
