A 22-year-old Singaporean man has pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge in the US after organising one of the biggest cryptocurrency heists in history. Malone Lam admitted to teaming up with a group of friends to steal $245 million in bitcoin, spending up to $500,000 a night at nightclubs and buying a fleet of exotic cars worth as much as $3.8 million each, according to the US Department of Justice. Lam, who also went by the names Anne Hathaway, $$$ and King Greavy, dropped out of school in Singapore at 14 before travelling to the US, where he acted as ringleader of a network that tricked victims into handing over confidential details to drain their crypto wallets.
