How could AI actually wipe out humanity? The concern isn’t that a chatbot suddenly becomes “evil.” The risk emerges if three things come together: superhuman capability, access to powerful real-world systems, and goals that don’t remain aligned with human survival. Possible pathways include cyberattacks, engineered biological threats, autonomous weapons, mass manipulation, or humans simply losing the ability to regain control. None of this is inevitable, and experts strongly disagree about the probability. But disagreement about probability doesn’t make the possibility imaginary…and the consequences are serious enough to justify safeguards before these systems become uncontrollable. #ai #agi #artificialintelligence #human #extinction
