Don't do it. Don't let the August 28th date fool you. If you're in the United States, this lunar eclipse begins tomorrow night, August 27th, and waiting until the 28th could mean you might miss it. So here are the exact times that you need to know. For most Americans, you're going to watch it and see it tomorrow night, Thursday, August 27th. The partial eclipse begins at 7:33 Pacific, 8:33 Mountain, 9:33 Central, and 10:33 Eastern. Maximum eclipse, this is when 96.3% of the moon is inside of Earth's shadow. This happens at 9:13 Pacific, 10:13 Mountain, 11:13 Central, and 12:13 Eastern, which is technically August 28th, and that date is why you're seeing both of those dates listed online. If you're on the West Coast, look towards the east-southeast and find a clear horizon because the moon will initially be low in the sky. Central and Eastern viewers should see the moon a bit higher in the sky, which is awesome. Remember, there's no telescope or eclipse glasses needed. Just give your eyes a few minutes to adjust to the sky. And remember, the copper red, the blood moon color isn't guaranteed. It does depend partly on conditions in Earth's atmosphere, but I sure hope it gets bright. Save this video now so that you're not trying to figure this out tomorrow night. And comment what city you're in and whether or not you plan to watch it.
