Broke at 21, millionaire at 25 in Australia 🇦🇺 If I could sit down with my 21-year-old self, these are 5 things I’d tell him — even if he didn’t want to hear them. 1. 💰 DROP THE MONEY SCARCITY MINDSET Stop thinking there’s never enough money. Being careful is good, but constantly making decisions from fear will keep you thinking small. Focus on becoming more valuable, improving your skills and increasing your earning ability. 2. 📚 INVEST IN YOUR KNOWLEDGE When I was younger, I cared too much about buying things that made me look successful. Looking back, learning new skills, reading, studying and learning from people ahead of me was far more valuable. You can lose money. Knowledge and skills can keep paying you back. 3. 🚫 STOP SPENDING MONEY ON LIABILITIES Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean you should buy it. A nicer car, designer clothes, expensive dinners and the latest phone might make you look successful, but looking wealthy and building wealth are two completely different things. You don’t have to live like you’re broke. Just stop spending money to prove you aren’t. 4. 🧠 DECIDE HOW BADLY YOU WANT IT Everyone says they want financial freedom. But do you want it badly enough to be disciplined when nobody is watching? Motivation comes and goes. Discipline is what keeps you moving when you don’t feel like it. Sometimes getting ahead means delaying gratification and saying no to things you could technically afford. 5. 🤫 STOP TRYING TO IMPRESS PEOPLE WHO DON’T CARE Most people aren’t thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are. Build quietly. Learn quietly. Save quietly. You don’t need the newest car or the most expensive lifestyle to prove you’re doing well. If I could go back, I’d worry a lot less about LOOKING successful and spend a lot more time BECOMING successful. I haven’t figured everything out, and I’ve made plenty of mistakes. But these lessons changed the way I think about money and building my future. #sydney #australia #australian #aussie
