Posted 9/12/26 at 12:10am central Sometimes the fight isn’t about changing the outcome, it’s about giving it absolutely everything you’ve got, and refusing to admit she was done before she was. It happened yesterday, (9/11/26), I wasn’t ready to tell you yet. You all loved her so much, but I needed one more day where she was still just mine. She was home. I held her when she was 75 grams. I fed her around the clock. I fought for her, drove her across Texas, and got second and third opinions because this little girl kept showing me she wasn’t finished. And you made so much of that possible. Somehow this tiny little cat brought people together from all over the world to fight for her and love her. You celebrated every gram, every poop, every ridiculous little victory and every time THE GIRL GOT UP. When she needed more than I could give her alone, you showed up. You commented, shared, and followed. Your donations gave her access to specialists, neurology, and more opinions. Money never had to be the reason I stopped asking, “Is there anything else I can do?” Oz brought rescues together too. I partnered with @Texas Cat Coalition in Corpus Christi, sharing experience, resources and support across thousands of miles for one impossibly tiny kitten. When there was finally nothing left to do, I brought her home. I couldn’t let her last moments be on a cold exam table surrounded by strangers. She left this world at home, in the place she knew, surrounded by love. I thought I was saving Oz. I didn’t realize she was creating a community, a rescue and impacting my life in a way that will forever be changed. ACS exists because of her. She took something I’d done quietly for years and gave it a name, a purpose and a community. And because she was here, I can give other cats the kind of chance I fought so hard to give her. The smallest life took up an enormous amount of space in this world. I hope you’ll stay with me over the next few days while I commemorate her life. There are still stories to tell and so much of this tiny girl worth celebrating. Thank you for loving her. Thank you for fighting for her with me. There will never be another Oz. My girl fought like hell. Now she gets to rest. 🤍 #ozthekitten #rescuekitten #kittenrescue #teamoz
