Why it worked

The video likely resonated due to its relatable theme of personal growth (glow-up) combined with a humorous and exaggerated comparison to dramatic sports injuries, tapping into common internet humor and shared experiences of heartbreak and loss.

Summary

The video starts with a montage of yearbook photos showing a person's glow-up from 7th to 8th grade. It then transitions to a commentary on relationships and basketball, comparing a player's injury to a breakup and questioning how one recovers from such emotional and physical setbacks.

Structure

1Yearbook photo glow-up montage
2Commentary on relationship 'injuries'
3Comparison to basketball player injuries
4Questioning recovery from heartbreak and loss
