Why it worked

The video taps into a common curiosity about the necessity of extensive skincare routines and presents a bold, contrarian experiment that promises dramatic results, encouraging viewers to follow along for the transformation.

Summary

The creator is embarking on a 30-day experiment to see what happens when they stop using all skincare products and only use a bar of soap to wash their face. They will document their skin's progress daily.

Structure

1Introduction to the 30-day skincare experiment
2Questioning the skincare industry's motives
3Revealing the minimalist routine: only bar soap
4Transition to Day 1 and commitment to documenting progress

Product placement

Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Bar: Acts - used to wash the creator's face. Removing it would change the video's premise. Cetaphil US: Appears - mentioned in the caption as the brand of the soap. Removing it would not change what happens in the video.

What Happens if You Stop ALL Skincare for a Month... Day #1

Transcript

What would happen if you stop using all your skincare for a month? We're gonna find out because for the next 30 days, all I'm using is this bar soap to wash my face. Sometimes I wonder if the skincare industry is really just a massive grift that profits off our insecurities. I mean, just look at the amazing skin these straight men have whose routine only consists of three one body wash. Anyways, I'm going back to the closet and treating my skin like a real man. No more potions and tonics, just the same soap I wash my ass with. I'll be documenting how my skin progresses every day. So stay tuned.
