Ranking IV pumps I've used as a nurse. Plum 2/10. I liked that the secondary was super easy to use, but I hated priming the primary tubing for this. And the fact that you need a whole new pump for multiple drips, it's just too big and bulky. No thank you. B Braun -100/10. The B stands for barely functional and honestly you should just throw that thing in the trash. Worst pump ever. I used this during a travel nurse assignment and I don't think I ever actually learned how to work it properly and I don't think the other nurses knew how to work it either. I literally hated everything about it. Not user friendly whatsoever. Baxter pump 5/10. She's cute. I only used this for a short period of time, but it was relatively easy to figure out and because it was so small, hanging multiple drips was actually pretty convenient. Alaris 9/10. The only reason it's not a 10/10 is because it weighs about a million pounds. It is big and bulky, but I love that it has multiple channels per brain and it's super user friendly. Easily my favorite. What is your favorite IV pump? Let me know in the comments.
