Promoted product

McDonald's Spicy McNuggets

Why it worked

The video uses a relatable, high-energy 'tea-spilling' skit format to frame a standard product announcement, making the advertisement feel like a personal conversation.

Summary

The creator receives a phone call from a character named Cayenne, who informs her that Spicy McNuggets have returned to McDonald's. The creator then receives a delivery of the nuggets and enjoys them with Mighty Hot Sauce.

Structure

1Creator receives a phone call about the product
2Creator discusses the product return with the caller
3Creator receives a delivery of the product
4Creator eats the product with the featured sauce

Product placement

McDonald's (a) acts: the creator receives a delivery from them, opens the branded packaging, and consumes the food. Removing this would change the entire video. Mighty Hot Sauce (a) acts: the creator opens the packet and dips the nuggets into it. Removing this would change the video.

Girl, don't call me just to tease me, spill. Missed who? That's what you called to tell me? Wait, actually this is important. Okay Cayenne, you're my favorite. Alright, the tea has officially spilled. Spicy McNuggets are back at McDonald's with Mighty Hot Sauce for a limited time. Okay, ta-ta!
