If you get put on a PIP, let them fire you. Let them fire you because in the state of Texas, um, you can qualify for unemployment for lackluster performance. I'm sure it's the same in other states, too, but in Texas specifically, uh, lackluster performance still allows you to collect unemployment. The worst thing that can happen is you're not eligible for rehire, but in my case, I hated my job title and the company that I was at. And now, um, I'm doing something completely different and I am 10 times happier than I ever was at my last place. Now, what's probably gonna happen is, um, and you, you make sure to do this during the PIP. Follow the PIP, uh, when your manager gives you the guidelines of how to, quote-unquote, fulfill the PIP. Half the time, PIPs aren't survivable, but they, they say that they are. When you receive the, you know, the expectations of the PIP, do your best to follow those expectations, but always know in the back of your mind that your time is almost up. Uh, they're probably gonna fire you soon, but just play the game for, like, a month or two, however long the PIP lasts. If you get fired, what will likely happen is, uh, you apply for unemployment immediately. Apply immediately as soon as you get home, and then you're gonna eventually receive a call from whatever your all's, whatever your state's Workforce Commission is. And, um, they'll ask you questions and you can speak to saying like, hey, um, I was expected to do this and this and this during the PIP and I made improvements to my performance, but they still wanted to fire me any, they still felt the need to fire me anyways. Um, so basically, so yeah, um, that the extra few hundred dollars a week doesn't hurt.
