Before You Book A Salem Hotel...

Before you book a hotel for an October trip to Salem, Massachusetts, there are three things I would check first. Because the prettiest room isn't necessarily going to make your Salem weekend easier. Number one is parking. Parking Salem gets incredibly busy in the fall and having to find parking every time you come back into town can turn it into a whole project. Salem Waterfront Hotel has free parking for hotel guests. So we were able to just leave the car and just walk. Number two was location. You're right by the waterfront and harbor walk and we could walk from the hotel to Essex Street and the shops, museums, attractions. And a lot of the places people actually come to see. And no. 3 is what's at the hotel when you're done walking all day. There's a restaurant on property and indoor pool. Our room felt upscale and comfortable with little details that made it feel a little more than just a place to sleep.
