This is officially our second time staying at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres in under a year. So, if that tells you nothing else, let it tell you this: we love this place. Starting from the jump, if you book directly through the resort, you get a free transfer from the airport straight to the hotel. It's about a 45-minute drive, and not having to worry about coordinating your own transportation is such a small thing that makes a huge difference, and the hotel handles all of that. When you pull up, they're greeting you with cool towels and champagne, so they're already setting the tone. This time around, we booked Excellence Club, and that comes with its own private check-in. It's this whole separate, quiet area, so instead of standing in a lobby line after traveling, you're sitting down, lounging, there's a bar, there's food already out. It's just a whole different experience. We didn't do Excellence Club the last time we were here, but it was so worth it. For our room, we booked the Excellence Club terrace suite with private plunge pool. I got a full room tour up already if you want the details on that one. And honestly, I don't want to keep saying we love this resort over and over, but we really do. From the service to the aesthetic to the views, just all of it is top tier. But let's talk about the food, because that's actually one of the main reasons we came back. Those lunchtime tacos, only available for a short window and worth planning your whole day around. But anywho, booking Excellence Club also gets you access to more restaurants. We had a limited time this trip, so we ended up eating at a lot of the same spots as our first visit, but we did get to try one Excellence Club-only restaurant for dinner, and honestly, that alone made the upgrade worth it. Y'all, we got a bone-in tomahawk steak that was beautiful, truly. The food here really is just that good. I don't think anyone in our group had a single dish they didn't enjoy. But all in all, Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres is hands down my favorite all-inclusive resort. So, let this be your sign, because you need to visit.
