Tomorrow marks two years since Hurricane Helene devastated communities throughout the Southern Appalachian Mountains. We traveled to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock to meet with Governor Josh Stein to learn more about the recovery firsthand, and recognize the resilience and determination that continues to drive this region forward! There’s still a long road ahead, but a few things deserve the spotlight: ✨North Carolina has committed $2.5 billion to Helene recovery, the largest disaster recovery investment in state history! ✨Spokes of Hope & Precision Grading have worked tirelessly, at no cost, to help rebuild these communities. ✨Tourism matters!! Visiting, staying, dining, and shopping locally puts money directly back into the communities still rebuilding. 📍Lake Lure, NC 📍Chimney Rock, NC HERE ARE A FEW THINGS YOU CAN’T MISS: 🏡 Stay at a locally owned inn or lodge 🥾 Walk the trails at Morse Park along Lake Lure 🍽️ Dine along the river at River Watch Grill ⛰️ Visit Chimney Rock State Park 🛍️ Explore the shops and businesses in Chimney Rock Village 🚤 Get out on Lake Lure and experience the mountains from the water Save this for your next Western North Carolina trip ❤️ #LakeLure #ChimneyRockNC #WesternNorthCarolina #VisitNC #AppalachianMountains
