Why it worked
The video uses a curiosity-driven hook and a 'life hack' format that promises a surprising, long-hidden secret, which encourages viewers to watch the entire process to see the result.
Summary
A creator demonstrates a DIY life hack by mixing strawberries, lemon juice, and toothpaste in a bowl. They then use the mixture to scrub their hand with a toothbrush.
Structure
- 1Creator selects strawberries at a grocery store
- 2Creator slices strawberries into a bowl
- 3Creator adds toothpaste and lemon juice to the bowl
- 4Creator mixes the ingredients with a fork
- 5Creator scrubs their hand with the mixture using a toothbrush
Product placement
Colgate (a brand of toothpaste) appears as the user squeezes it into a bowl to mix with strawberries and lemon juice. Removing it would not change the video as it is used as a generic ingredient for a DIY cleaning hack.
