Christa Pike has declined to choose a final meal as she faces execution in Tennessee on Wednesday, becoming the first woman put to death by the state in around 200 years. The 50-year-old has spent nearly three decades on death row for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer, for which she was sentenced to death at age 20. Pike recently said she had made peace with her fate and was 'not afraid to die', as her legal team continued seeking a last-minute reprieve. The US Supreme Court has since declined to halt the execution, leaving Pike scheduled to be put to death by lethal injection at 10am local time. #christapike #news #usa #tennessee #crime
