Christa Pike says she is 'at peace' and 'not afraid to die' as she faces execution in Tennessee today, more than three decades after being sentenced to death. In a letter written before her clemency request was denied, Pike said she was grateful for the support she had received, writing: 'I've felt more love in the last two weeks than I have my entire life.' She also acknowledged one fear: 'I am only nervous about the process.' Pike is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection at 10am local time in Nashville.
