For AWGE SS27 during Paris Fashion Week, A$AP Rocky wanted to highlight global economics as a key theme for his collection. Many wars have been fought over oil and other valuable natural resources and that inspired the oil-dye effect outerwear as well as many of the accessories on the runway including oil keg shaped bags. As an extension of war A$AP Rocky used the theme to highlight an iconic moment in history (also in reference to Harlem where he’s from). The Black Parisian Renaissance when a significant wave of African American writers, artists, and musicians from Harlem and other US cities moved to Paris after World War II. It was only right that ASAP Rocky, a man from Harlem held a show in Paris and performed a show after in the same space just the way Harlem artist moved to Paris to perform many years ago. #awge #asaprocky #fashion #fashionweek #asaprockyedits
