I know there are far bigger problems in the world than a sprained ankle, and I’m incredibly grateful that this is something I get the privilege of being upset about. ❤️ But I also think it’s okay to be sad when something you genuinely love is suddenly taken away from you, even temporarily. Football has become such a huge part of my life. The people, the routine, the adrenaline, the feeling of being part of something… and going from playing to watching from the sidelines in the space of a few seconds really hit me harder than I expected. I stayed on the sidelines for the rest of the game, shouting until I had no voice, because even though I couldn’t be on the pitch, I still wanted to be part of it. If you’ve ever had an injury force you to stop doing something you love, you’ll know it’s not just the injury you’re dealing with. You’re grieving the routine, the freedom and the version of yourself you get to be when you’re doing what you love. It’s okay to be frustrated. It’s okay to be gutted. And it’s okay to remind yourself that this is temporary. ❤️ One day at a time. One little step at a time. I’ll be back. ⚽️❤️ thank you for the pictures @jg.media17
