Yesterday felt like one of those moments where life comes full circle. I got to see two of my old friends, Casey and Zane, who I knew from my active addiction days. We haven’t seen each other since we all got sober. I may or may not have cried because seeing them healthy, happy, and with their beautiful baby boy was just too much for my heart to take. While out visiting them, I realized I was only a few minutes away from the old motel my ex and I lived in during the end of our addiction and early sobriety. Going back there brought up a lot of memories, yet I couldn’t help but be grateful to be standing there at all, let alone in a completely different position than the one I was in 2 years ago. The life I have today is something I genuinely couldn’t have imagined back then. Sometimes you need to look back at where you came from to really understand how far you’ve come. #addiction #growth #recovery #sober #WeDoRecover
