Today we went back to the waterfall… and this time Macy came too. 💚🐾 If you’ve been watching our “long” videos lately, you already know our walks don’t look like most people’s walks. They’re slow. They’re full of pauses. Full of rest breaks. Full of me standing there, watching bodies that have to work harder for every single step. This video is almost 2 minutes… but the real journey was much longer than that. I edited out a lot of the pauses and parts of the walk because social media attention spans are what they are… but I still want you to see enough to understand this: disabled dogs require patience. A lot of it. And I’m genuinely honored to give it to them. I will wait as long as they need. I will slow my whole life down if it means they get to experience theirs. Summer and Tonk have shown you their heart a thousand times… but today Macy showed hers just as loud. She walked the trail by herself the whole way, leading her brother and sister like she had somewhere important to be. Tiny body. Huge determination. The kind of courage that doesn’t make a sound, it just keeps moving. And then we got to the tree trunk. She wanted to hop over it so badly… but she’s just too small. So she paused, looked at it, tried to problem-solve it, and then she looked up at me with those eyes that say everything without a single word. “Mama… help me.” So I did. I stepped in and lifted her over. Not because she’s weak. Not because she can’t. But because sometimes resilience also looks like trusting someone enough to ask. Letting yourself be carried for one moment so you can keep walking the rest. People see the slow pace and think it’s sad. But I see three dogs with different bodies choosing life anyway. I see heart. Perseverance. Determination. I see them smiling through something that costs them more than most will ever understand. And I see the reminder they give me every time we come here: A full life isn’t measured in speed. It’s measured in joy. And in the love that’s willing to move at their pace. They are worth the time. Every single second. 💚🐾 🍄🪴Holistically managing their present to better protect their future. 🐾 #DisabledDogs #SpecialNeedsDogs #RescueDogs #NeverGiveUp #NatureTherapy
