Middle East Airlines is preparing for the return of direct flights between Beirut and New York, with new aircraft joining its fleet from November 2026. The first batch will include four Airbus aircraft, including A330-900neos that are planned for long-haul operations such as the Beirut–New York route. A second batch of four aircraft is expected before mid-2027. The A330-900neo can fly around 13,300 kilometres depending on configuration and payload, potentially opening the door to other long-haul destinations in the future, such as Montreal or São Paulo. The new A321XLRs will also help strengthen MEA’s network across Africa and Asia, while the airline continues preparations and works through the required security and operational procedures for the U.S. route. As a SkyTeam member alongside airlines including Air France and Delta, a direct Beirut–New York route could also create new connections between Lebanon and destinations across North America. If launched, it could mark the return of a direct Beirut–New York connection after around 40 years. #livelovebeirut #newyork #middleeastairlines #directflights
