Zep Grout Cleaner

Why it worked

The video leverages a relatable, low-stakes 'moment of truth' format that invites the audience to participate in the creator's curiosity, making the product demonstration feel like a genuine experiment rather than a scripted advertisement.

Summary

The creator tests a grout cleaning product on her apartment floor to see if it effectively removes stains. She demonstrates the application and scrubbing process, ultimately concluding that while it lightened the grout, it did not fully clean it.

Structure

1Creator introduces the grout cleaning challenge
2Applies Zep Grout Cleaner to the floor
3Scrubs the grout with a brush
4Compares the cleaned section to the uncleaned area
5Evaluates the final results

Product placement

Zep Grout Cleaner: (a) it ACTS — the creator applies it to the grout, it is shown changing the grout color, and the creator compares its effectiveness to another product. Removing it would change the video as it is the subject of the demonstration. Scrubbing brush: (a) it ACTS — the creator uses it to scrub the grout. Removing it would change the video.

At the moment of truth. Let's go. I'm not sure if I was supposed to scrub it but I didn't. Oh, it looks like it's turning it, it turned it blue. Oh shit. Hold on, let me rinse it off and then I'll get in there and scrub it but I just didn't want to stand on it. I'm a cleaner. Hold on, I'll fast forward this part, okay? Okay. Try it once again. Well, I think it's a little lighter. Yeah, it is a little lighter because this is, this is without it and then this is with it. But yeah, it's still not good. This is with the Zep did. So that's probably better than that stuff. And back to the drawing board.
