Humans don’t need to run 10 miles every morning to be healthy. Walk a lot. Lift. Climb. Jump. Sprint sometimes. Play. Jog when it feels good. Then recover. That’s how I prefer to train. Long endurance running is still a stressor, and doing more of it isn’t automatically healthier. Running is better than doing nothing. But “better than sitting on the couch” and “optimal” are two very different standards. For most people, I’d choose: 10k+ steps daily 3-4 short strength sessions/week occasional explosive sprints a fun sport every now and then Simple. Athletic. Sustainable. You don’t need to become a marathon runner to have a strong cardiovascular system.
