One of the major reasons why I quit teaching was because admin does not make sincere efforts to support teachers needs. It was extremely common for students to disrupt, destroy or violate the space of a teacher. Generally, if something like that occurred the admin would question what the teachers relationships with the student was like. As if the student was acting out because of my lack of effort. Another common scrutiny was to ask the teacher why the student was even in that opportunity. This implies that it was the teacher‘s fault that the student was able to do this. As if the teacher would not have prevented this if they could have prevented this. This example was shared by a different teacher, and I don’t know if her administration is supportive, but when I experienced destructive acts in my classroom, I was not supported by the administrators. #formerteacher #teachersoftiktok #teacherlife #teacherburnout #principal
