Add warm milk and slightly melted butter. Form the dough by stirring with a wooden spoon or stand mixer until a cohesive, shaggy mass appears. Knead on a lightly floured surface by hand for 10–12 minutes, or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 6–7 minutes, until the dough feels smooth, elastic, and soft. If the dough is too dry, add 1–2 tsp of slightly melted butter. Then continue to mix til smooth. Place the dough in a lightly buttered bowl and brush the top of the dough with a little butter. Cover with plastic wrap and a cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 2 hours, or until doubled in volume. Punch the dough and divide it into twelve equal portions. Shape each into round balls by flipping the corners up toward the centre and pinching at the top; flip and roll into tight, smooth balls, then flip again to pinch seams and roll once more. Arrange the balls in a buttered 9x13 baking dish, cover with plastic and a tea towel, and allow a second rise for 30–45 minutes until they poof up again. Brush the tops with whole cream or whole milk. Bake at (preheated) 375°F for 18–25 minutes, or until golden brown. While hot from the oven, brush the tops with melted butter and enjoy your homemade rolls!
